Because of needs around you and your desire to counsel and guide individuals, you may want a deeper understanding of people and skills to be a more effective people helper in your church or organization. The Christian’s duty to offer Godly counsel to those in need. While all Christians are a part of the body of Christ, it is the church's duty to allow for the ministry of counseling to help those in need.
The Bible says s a man thinks so he becomes. Elsewhere It states “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.”
Our beliefs cause us to feel what we feel, think what we think, and want what we want. Our beliefs drive our behavior because we are moved by what we believe. Psychology is simply the study of behavior. Biblically, the psychology of behavior is summed up with the sentence ‘People are moved by what they believe, and God has given us the freedom to choose, therefore our choices dictate our behavior’.
Someone can help us change what we believe to be based on truth and reality, but only we can make loving and responsible choices. When we believe the Word of God, we become empowered with life-changing choices. When we choose to believe the Word of God, faith arises and change occurs by the grace of God.
When we change what we believe, it will change what we feel, what we think and what we want and thus empower us for better choices. When our beliefs are based on the truth of God and His Word, and we yield to that belief, then faith becomes active.

Four Soils Ministry’s Christian Counseling Certificate program offers a training process, leading to certificate as a Christian Counselor. This training is open to any Christian who would like to learn how to help them selves and others apply biblical truth to their mental and emotional problems.

Christian Counselors help others to see that God is able and willing to take a bad situation and make it an opportunity for their good and for the good of others. Christian Counselors enable others to make faith-based choices according to the scriptural purpose of God for their life.
You do not need to be considering a full-time ministry in counseling or be a pastor to enroll in the Four Soils Ministry’s Christian Counseling Program.
Our type of Biblical counseling focuses on what a person believes about God and His Word as the root of his or her behavior. When we aid the person to line up his or her beliefs about God and what God says about Himself and the responsibility of man in the pages of the Bible, the necessary changes in a person's behavior will begin to appear as a natural result.
The Bible says, “if we will walk in the Spirit we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh”. The lust of the flesh is the root of all the problems of mankind. The Holy Spirit and the Word of God can enable us to help ourselves and others too see that Christ is the answer to all the world’s problems.
